because i actually had time to make them...

Guys, I'm so proud of myself! A few Fridays ago I had two birthday parties to go to  - back to back and I'm never doing that again - I decided to make birthday cards for these parties instead of buying them. Usually I don't make my own birthday cards... and its not because I don't want to but because I don't have time. When ever I tried to make one for a friend's birthday in the past, I never have enough time to finish it and would end up having to go to the store to buy one (target has the best birthday cards. period.) and then when I got home from the party all my craft stuff would be everywhere and the half finished card would just go in the trash.... (shame, I know... but I'm wasteful, I waste things). Point is,  I ACTUALLY FINISHED THESE CARDS! YAY! WAHOO! and I had time to make a 3rd card just cuz. :) I'm just so happy and proud of myself right now. Its like "YES! I actually did it!" *does happy jig* *breaks out into song*

Anyway, I thought I might show you all my cards, is that okay?

If not, too bad. I'm showing them to you anyway. hehe ;)

a little D.I.Y. of my own

While at Target the other day with my mom, i was in my favorite department (housewares) when i spotted this adorable picture hanging thing-mo-jigger. It was a piece of wire and two birds attached to each end. You nailed the birds to the wall and you could use clothes pins to hang pictures on the wire.

Well since im was of those "it must be on sale, or els i wont get it" people i passed on getting it (also my dad is very particular about me hanging things on the wall). Anyhoo when i got home I said to myself "what the hay-hay! I can make one of these!". It truely was very simple! Here is my finished product!

Right now mine is this weird zig-zag design, but the possibilities are endless! Since im aweful at instructions, and always take to long explaining things I'm just gonna post pictures! Comment with questions if you wish! :)

 

 

above is what you will need. I purchased the Stikki Wax at Office Max. I allso use stikki wax in place of tape to tape things to my walls. I have the pop-corn walls so not even double-sided will say up! It works great! below is some things you want to stay away from! Note the buttons are not flat on the bottom side.

 i'm loving these cute little bracelets! I used Lace Company's Superior Suede Lace, bead landing's Chain {waxed cotton cord set}, Crown Bolt Nuts {from the hardware store 1/4-20} and i'm not sure what company made the ball chain /diamond chain. but anyhooo here is the info!!!!

Craft-tastic Tuesday!

i have decided to make the first Tuesday of every month Craft-tastic Tuesday! {that is if i have cool crafts ideas to post} There are so many amazing crafts/recipes/ D.I.Y.'s on pinterest and other blogs i want to try them all!

so this months craft is a spoon rose!

lovely right? this is my take on the rose! you can use whatever color spoons you like, i used white because that's what i had in the house! anyhoo have you noticed i used anyhoo alot? ha ha anyhoo here is the website for the instructions! http://www.cutoutandkeep.net/projects/plastic-spoon-rose! i hope you try making this! It is truly an awesome thing! I'm keeping this one and making another for a friends birthday! instead of a bow on the gift box I'm putting a rose! Also mine is kinda black, my turned out that way because i held it closer to the candle so the process would be faster and to give it a little more color, depth, i wanted to see the shape and everything! If you are more patient {ha ha obviously I'm not ;) } and hold it farther from the candle it will not be black like mine is!
