gezelligheid

(n.) the coziness, warmth and comfort of being at home, or being together with friends or loved ones sharing time in a pleasant and nice atmosphere.

I kept saying to myself  "tonight I'll blog, I'll do it tonight, today, this morning, during lunch...." Sadly my dear friends, it just never happened. The fall semester is long gone, as is my winter break. Spring semester is about to start and my homework will start to pile up again.  Can you believe my Physical Geology book was over 300 dollars? That is just absurd. smh. college. egh.

Fall semester - what I am now calling my "Semester of Loneliness"- ended nicely for the most part. I decided to call it the "Semester of Loneliness" because I attended classes at the downtown campus by myself. I have 10+ friends at the same college as me but they all chose a different campus, and the downtown campus while beautiful, is not a good area to try and make new friends or socialize, if you know what I mean.  To top that off my friends and I all had completely different schedules so even when one of us had time to hang out, the other didn't.  Hence "Semester of Loneliness." The downtown campus truly is lovely though, right in the heart of downtown Norfolk. Red brick sidewalks line the streets next to tall regal looking office buildings, hipster coffee shops, and old theaters with vintage marquees. If i didn't miss my friends so much, and if the sketchy people at that campus didn't bother me so much, I would never have considered switching campuses.

Winter break finally came and my lonely semester came to a fast close. First party on the list was the Chick-fil-A Christmas party. We started the night off right with a ugly sweater contest, and then a white elephant gift exchange where our store's owner/operator bought all the gifts instead of all the team members. It was a lot of fun seeing people's faces light up when they opened the bag that held their gift, then see that same face turn angry when someone stole it from them. After that was birthday party, after birthday party, after birthday party. For some reason a good half of my friends have birthdays in December. Every weekend I had a different birthday party to go to, or parties I should say because sometimes I had more than one. (if you ever saw my tweet "my dad says I party to much" now you know why) It was refreshing to see everyone. I hadn't been around people or friends really, all semester... It was like my internal battery had died and I needed a spark of energy to wake me up again.   I never realized how extroverted I was until the end of this semester. When I'm not around friendly people I kind of just die.

Christmas day was nice. I think we all gave eachother some pretty cool (some strange) gifts. I received a shower curtain! My mom got a butter dish; My dad, a vacuum cleaner. Tyler somehow ended up with a huge amount of shoes, and my sister got an infinity scarf. Now you might think an infinity scarf isn't really a strange gift but to her, it was. You should have seen her face when she pulled it out of its box. She was really confused; She had no clue what it was. *laughs* My bad.

Anyhoo...
Happy belated Christmas and New Year's to you all!

17 & Driving

Guess who finally almost got her license? yep, this girl! Virginia's driving laws are terrible and it was unfair of the DMV to make me wait so long to get my license..... and then after I passed all the tests and drivers ed I had to wait, and wait, and wait for the court date so that I could get my actual hard copy. yes, court date. I have to go before a judge, who will grant me my license. BUT ALAS on September 25th, I will have an actual license, not just a silly paper that says I'm a licensed driver. Happy are here again! :)

A Little Gathering

This evening was nothing special, just a starry night filled with; fun, friends, and cake! Mocha and chocolate cake to be exact. The festivities included volleyball, a photo booth, good music, and a movie on the lawn. Although I turned 17 way back in July, I wasn't able to celebrate it with all of my family and friends until now. This night was mine to spend with the friends I hadn't seen all summer. Also it was the night I realized I was getting old because it took me 6 times to blow out all my candles. :)

be blessed

Texas... a while ago...

I would like to move to Texas. Honestly, it is one of the most beautiful, non-humid states I have ever been too! There is so much to see, and do. So much history there - I love it! Also I got to see my Mama & Papa, who I haven't seen in FOREVER!

Have a fantastic week y'all.

thoughts on clouds....

 lovely sky no? Have you ever looked up and realized the clouds look like flat fluffs of white that belong on the ceiling of some famous church or building in Italy? Or like the ones in the pre-school wing at church painted onto the walls? Sometimes i could just stare at them all day looking for some flaw. A sign that they are not real. Something that says the sky is just one amazing large canvas and God is the artist....  {with one HUGE paint brush}

Pictures of the recent trip i took to lynchburg coming soon! Also I'll be taking lots of pictures this week also  when i go to the Outer Banks, Planetarium, and my schools Sock-Hop! Have a great week/week-end everyone!

hi-oh hi-oh its off to work i go =]

While I was MIA I got to see the amazing show wicked! It was amazing. Worth every penny that the ticket cost! The show was ahhhhhh it. was. awesome! I went with my sister but when we got there i actually found out that a group of friends was sitting 2/3 rows in front of me then another group of friends to the right of me! haha homeschoolers think alike! :)

 if you were wondering i bought a charm from the wicked store for my charm bracelet! anyhoo the show was amazing the funny part was after the show my sister and i were leaving Norfolk about to get on the highway towards our house and we saw this! {yes i just had to video tape it! haha}

 so its this elderly man holding a dog puppet out side his car window! When he saw that i was video taping him he started to make the dog talk but by then we were to far away and i had stop recording!

I hope everyone is having a relaxing spring break and stopping to smell the wonderful flowers blooming! God Bless

Hey Guys, Sorry I've been MIA for the past few weeks... If you expected it to be a picture post with the awesome photos i took on my trip, especially the ones at liberty, or the videos of the skits or my totally AHmazing sword fight, or a story about how i got my first black eye this past weekend, that is coming! soon! I just have to upload every thing! hehe

lessons learned.

i have learned so much today at work i thought i would share some of it with you.

- 1. Value size means LARGE. {hahaha when i found this out i started freaking out about all the orders i have taken that were wrong in the past month because of this}

- 2. when your working a 7hr shift do not volunteer to take on an extra hour. making your shift 8 hours meaning you worked from 9 to 5.

- 3. never let yourself work 8 hour shifts on Saturdays when it is busy 24/7!

- 4. working window { the person who takes your money and hands you your food at the drive through} is not as glamorous as people lead you to believe. its BETTER!

- 5. when your little and all you want to do is slide the credit card through the magic machine thingy don't get a job where that's whatyou do all day. Because when you get your own, the fun has been ruined! =]

- 6. when your only 15, your not allowed to be in the fridge or on ladders/step ladders. my baaaaaad

- 7. when people you know come through the drive through. Pretend like you don't know them until the job is done. or els..... you will mess up the entire order!

- 8. don't forget to pick up sauce containers when you drop them or els your 17 year old brother who has perfect eyesight { well kinda perfect he wears contacts} will step on it. slip, and squirt the sauce everywhere!

- 9. never ever ever let your dad learn your on the window for the first time. he might order something just so he could pick it up from you at the window and annoy you with talking {or yelling} 20X louder than his regular voice.

- 10.  when you have a regular costumer named, lets just say Mr. Harry comes in for his regular, before you say hey Mr. Harry, make sure it is Harry, and not Carey! or els you might end up calling a guy harry for a month or two before someone you work with corrects you!

Have a great Saturday/Sunday/week everyone! God bless

{below are photos from my school dance last Saturday, would have posted more but i've misplaced my camera and these are not my photos, mine is most likely in my messy room i just haven't had time to look. }

05 February 2012

that moment when you realize your the worst dancer in the room.

today was my bezzies 17 birthday party, Happy Birthday Jicelle! love you lots! XD

Have any of you seen the dance central/just dance commercials for kinect? well i just learned that’s how my friends dance! Its crazy kool, and then there is me; doing the "side step" to the rhythm of the music while everyone around me is doing the jerk or some other dance move i prefer not to try! Okward? i think yes! but i still had a good time! my friends are amazing and i got to stuff myself with the best Asian food in the world, and the best made-from-scratch cake {mmmmmmm 5 different flavors to choose from!!!!!!!!}!  and now that i have learned i'm a terrible dancer i think its time i start using my dance central so next year i will crush them. although im not really sure that’s possible! :) i most likely won’t even come close!

but thats enough on that subject!
so i have been thinking about this for a while and i have decided to start a craft-tastic tuesday post. the first tuesday of every month is craft-tastic tuesday. I will be posting crafts, my version of crafts from other blogs and great homemade gift ideas {or at least im going to try}. I'm so excited to try this and it gives me a good excuse to try all that stuff i have seen on pinterest and other blogs i love to read! would love to hear some feed back of what you think about this. It’s very new so im not sure if i will keep it up or maybe stop it after a couple posts so it’s kinda in beta mode?? haha well lots of love and have a blessed weekend everyone!
-Hannah =]

p.s. has anyone read the inheritance cycle? ya know, the eragon series? i'm just starting book 2 {geeze its so large ha}..... so far so good, i love how it was written by a homeschooler! eep

c'est la vie

well i know its been a while since i last posted! I'm sorry for that, life has been crazy to say the least. I don't really have an excuse for not posting other than the fact that after 3 scary interviews i got my first ever job! I am now a team-member at chick-fil-a! {yeah *sadface* Tyler my brother also works there ughhhh ;)}

So sometime soon i will be posting some pictures from my recent ski/snowboard trip! o and the blog has gotten a new look! AHHHHHHgain! Did you see my lovely drop down accordion menu? i have to give all the credit to Francesca at creatively YOU blog design! The girls over there are amazing! so check out their website! because its pretty awesome!now the header has not really changed and that's because I'm trying to make it purrrr-fect. also I'm thinking about changing my blog name. I want something that's not so long as Beautiful Exciting.... but not as short as B.E.A.C.H. so the blog name will most likely change in the next few months but I'm not going to change it until i find one i absolute love {so it really wont change for the next year or so! ha ha} and that's about it!

~Hannah
p.s. don't watch one day with Anne Hathaway! Talk about depressing!!!
