The Excited Ramblings of A Girl Who Just Felt Her First Earthquake!

I know it’s a long title but it pretty much says what happened today{and i just really wanted to use the word ramblings}! But let me start at the beginning.

My mom is a real estate agent! She has a client that lives in Coney Island and was making a trip down to VA tomorrow {or something like that} and she called my mom this morning asking if she should cancel her trip because on the news in new York it said they were evacuation Virginia Beach! IMAGINE THAT! My math tutor was over so we quickly went into the living room to see if we were supposed to be "evacuating". Well there was nothing on the news or the weather channel so we soon forgot about it and my math tutor left.

Later in the day I met my friends at the mall because a close friend of mine is moving to Mississippi and we all wanted to say goodbye! We were supposed to go see Mr. Poppers Penguins but when we got there they were sold out so we got tickets to see cars 2 { I didn't like the first cars cuz I’m not really a pixar person with the exception of Toy Story but it was really good! I loved it! And every one was looking at me in the theater because I was laughing so hard at the funny parts!} Since we decided to see cars we had 2 hours to kill... We ended up playing hind and seek! Boys against girls {there were 2 boys, 3 girls} we girls had to hide and we ended up just sitting in one of those photo-booth thingies! The boys past us a LOT! So we totally won! After that we decided to get something to eat and we were sitting in the food court eating our chick-fil-a when it happened!

I was munching on my fries when I noticed the table starting vibrating! Noticing this is very normal for me because the girl that was sitting across from me happened to always do this so I just figured it was here. After looking under the table {just to make sure} I found out it wasn’t here! Then I noticed the flat screens suspended from the ceiling were shaking and the store-front windows near the court were shaking! One of my friends said it was just strong winds {O SURE!!!!!} and we soon realized it was an earthquake! We really realized what it was when we got about 15 different texts from friends saying "O-Mi-Gosh! Did you feel the earthquake?"

I'm very proud to say that was my first earthquake! My friends and I were so excited! None of us have ever experienced an earthquake before! While walking on the first floor of the mall we quickly asked some random passer-by to take a group shot so we will always remember our first earthquake together! {Photo is below}
