Hirshhorn // D.C.

 I am so blessed to be living so close to our nations capitol. We took a trip up there last Saturday to see my sister who was there with her college (LibertyUni) for the day. Even though i have been there countless times over the past 5, years i never grow tired of walking through all the museums. There is so much history there, its just amazing. It makes me sad to think that i know so many people who have lived here (Hampton Roads) their entire life and never gone D.C. not even once! They act like its not important when really, it is. My favorite museum is the Hirshhorn. It's a circular - donut like - cement building right by the Air & Space Museum. They always have the most interesting modern artwork there and the best part is that the exhibits are constantly changing. Since I am the only one in my family who loves the museum, I don't normally get to visit when we are in town. Saturday though, my mom, sister and I got caught in the rain meeting my dad and brother and had to go in to stay dry *fist pump*! My all-time favorite piece of artwork from the exhibits is a painting by Mark Grotjahn. It's oil on cardboard mounted on linen. It was ginourmous and so detailed and beautiful. Its titled Rotating Eyes of the Falling Tree Monkey Face *long pause* yeah, I don't get it either, but its still amazing.

Sculpture Garden // D.C. Adventures

 me // birds in the park // birds in the park // people watching // elderly man sleeping // sandals b&w // sandals b&w // modern art - ITS A TYPEWRITER ERASER! // me - ootd - awkward homeschooler pose

 You know when your walking around and you see what they call "modern art" and you totally don't get it? That's usually what happens to me, I don't quite get the artist's vision so ill just come up with my own interpretation. But the other day in D.C. I totally spazzed out, we were in the sculpture garden and there was this huge sculpture (second to last photo shown above) and I GOT IT! I almost screamed. I actually understood what the artist was doing, and *sigh* i was just so happy. HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY (- Uncle Si)

I'll be posting some more photos from my little day trip to D.C. after i finish processing them (I accidentally shot everything in RAW format *shakes head*) So until then my lovely friends :)

Grandma's Garden

I love my grandma's house. Her hard wood floors, burnt orange window shades, the quilts, the huge chest in the guest room filled with memories and clothes from Okinawa, the extremely huge tv, my grandpa's Harley, the feeling of home, the smell of chicken and dumplings or the endless supply of bar-b-q, and her garden. I love her garden.

one short day in the emerald city...

While I was MIA I got to see the amazing show wicked! It was amazing. Worth every penny that the ticket cost! The show was ahhhhhh it. was. awesome! I went with my sister but when we got there i actually found out that a group of friends was sitting 2/3 rows in front of me then another group of friends to the right of me! haha homeschoolers think alike! :)

 if you were wondering i bought a charm from the wicked store for my charm bracelet! anyhoo the show was amazing the funny part was after the show my sister and i were leaving Norfolk about to get on the highway towards our house and we saw this! {yes i just had to video tape it! haha}

 so its this elderly man holding a dog puppet out side his car window! When he saw that i was video taping him he started to make the dog talk but by then we were to far away and i had stop recording!

I hope everyone is having a relaxing spring break and stopping to smell the wonderful flowers blooming! God Bless

Hey Guys, Sorry I've been MIA for the past few weeks... I've had so much going on with the ymv yearbook, my brothers graduation cards {which i'm almost done with and will post later!!!!}, my brother graduating in general, the recent trip i took with my co-op to Lynchburg {yes we got to see Liberty!!!}, painting my room, pulling up the carpet so you can see the lovely wood floor in my room and spring break coming up!

If you expected it to be a picture post with the awesome photos i took on my trip, especially the ones at liberty, or the videos of the skits or my totally AHmazing sword fight, or a story about how i got my first black eye this past weekend, that is coming! soon!
