Evacuation Disney
Disney was amazing! I rode so many rides and left with so many memories! But I’m getting ahead of myself! You're probably thinking why did you "evacuate" to Disney? Well hurricane Irene was supposedly coming our way. We didn't really think anything of it when they evacuated the Outer Banx just an hour and 1/2 from my house, but when they decided to evacuate the entire beach/boardwalk and all their 7/8 story hotels, just 10 minutes from my house, we knew something was up. None of us thought our house would get flooded or anything like that, but we knew we would be without power for 3 days to a week because my neighborhood is notorious for losing power so we just decided to leave and go to Disney world! Genius plan right? Usually we don't wimp out, and leave just because our power will be out, but we have wanted to go to Disney for a while now and it’s the only time we could all go before my dad retires so, we just packed up and left! We drove {or my dad drove} 12 hours straight to Jacksonville FL, where we stayed for the night at the navy lodge on base. {We got there sometime around 4 am} then it was a two hour drive to Disney!
Once we got onto the Disney property we got really excited but the excitement soon left us after 5 minutes of driving. Disney is like a miniature state in a way. Each park and hotel/resort represents a city or town. Meaning they are all separated apart from each other by a couple miles! It took us 20/30 minutes {after we got onto the Disney property} to get to our hotel and that was with the GPS. On our way there we passed signs for various hotels, parks, a wedding pavilion, gas station and car rental place! I now know why they call it Disney WORLD! The place has 4 amusement/theme parks, 2 water parks, and 23 themed resort hotels including a campground, two health spas and physical fitness centers, and other recreational venues and entertainment. All this on 33,000 acres of land! I thought Disney world would be a larger version of Busch Gardens with 2 or 3 hotels inside, boy was a wrong!
While we were in Florida/Disney we got to go to Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, Downtown Disney {we got to eat at Planet Hollywood!!!!!!}, Epcot and Sea World. Even though sea world is not apart of Disney we still went because this is the last time my family could get in free because my dad is retiring from the Navy. Today I realized that there are to many photo's I want to share for me to put them all in one post and I don't want to post them in 3 extremely long posts like I did for the Japanese ship {which thinking back on it was not really a good idea!} so I have made a very odd, amateurly {if that’s a word} made picture video or my E-Vacation {as my friends mom put it!} =]
Aaaaaw. It would have been so much fun if we had gone together! Maybe sometime in the future we can all go to Disney ;) Love the pictures! Looks so fun! I miss my cuz :(
